Although later than many, my love for travel started at the age of 21, when I took my first flight. This certainly isn't a negative – my vacations growing up were spent at my family cottage of which I have so many wonderful memories. There I developed my love for the lake, the outdoors and exploring new places. These childhood experiences have taught me the ideals important for planning vacations - family, adventure, and creating memories. Having a family of my own now, my children will be lucky to have the best of both worlds – continued cottage vacations and international travel experiences (both have already taken their first flights - my youngest when he was 9 months old and my oldest when she was 3).
It wasn't until I was working on my family's Walt Disney World vacation that I finally decided to put my love for planning travel into action and begin my career as a travel consultant. Checking daily for the perfect dinner reservation time, waking up with the sun to book Fastpasses, and researching touring plans all day was addicting! I knew in those moments of planning that I wanted to help other families have a seamless vacation, without the hassle and worry during the planning process, and while on their trip.
Over the years I have travelled as often as I can, slowly ticking locations off my wish list, and re-visiting those that have become favourites. I've been lucky enough to have seen the Eiffel Tower, Buckingham Palace, and the Colosseum. I've watched surfers surf in street canals and rode a bike through the city at sunset in Germany. I've enjoyed beautiful beaches in Tobago, been immersed in the culture of Chile, fallen in love with the city views of New York, and eaten freshly made pasta in Italy. And I've learned about my own country – visited the amazing forests of Stanley Park, walked along cobblestone streets in Montreal, and explored many parts of a wonderful diverse Toronto.
