Traveling Over the Holiday Season - Important Tips!

With the holidays coming there are a few things that I would like to suggest -a quick to do list to make sure everything runs smoothly for your holiday travels. Make sure you check for all of the following:
Have all the tickets that were required been issued? Make sure to check each passenger in your group has a ticket and that you have 1 ticket per person. Sounds silly but if you booked your family all on the same file you will need a ticket for each person travelling!
  1. Do you need a visa? By now if you have booked your ticket with an experienced travel consultant they would have advised you when you purchased your travel that a visa is required. Please make sure you check to see the requirements of your destination. If a visa is required and you show up without one - you will be denied boarding.
  2. Do you have a valid passport for travel and it is valid for up to 6 months after your return date? You may by denied boarding if not.
  3. Has there been a schedule change? Do the itinerary and the ticket match? Check the ticket and make sure each flight, all dates and classes of service match what you have on the itinerary. If they do not match, you may be denied boarding.
  4. Have you selected seats for all flights? Most airlines will bump passengers off an overbooked flight if you do not have seats assigned. It is definitely worth the extra $ to avoid this especially over the holidays!
  5. Are your names correct on your tickets as per your passport? It is always a good idea to check your tickets with your passport to ensure that every letter is correct. Airlines will deny a passenger boarding for 1 letter being incorrect.

To avoid any of these situations, take some time in the next few days to check all your travel documents. The holidays are always a crazy time full of tension; stress and anger run high when travel issues happen that can be avoidable!

All the best over the holidays, and If you haven’t arranged your travel yet please give me a call! I would be happy to assist you over the busiest travel time of the year to ensure smooth, and professional assistance.
